Glen Blanscet received his B.S. degree in Public Administration from West Texas State University in 1979. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University in 1982 and a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2002. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at Dallas Baptist University since 2002 in the Colleges of Business and Christian Faith. He has taught classes on Business Law and Business Ethics, as well as Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, the Sermon on the Mount, the Epistle of Romans, the Minor Prophets, and Biblical Interpretations.
Blanscet began his career as an attorney in the law firm of Johnson, Bromberg, & Leeds in Dallas, Texas. His legal practice primarily focused in the areas of corporate and securities law. After three years at the law firm, he joined Atmos Energy Corporation, a publicly traded corporation in Dallas, Texas, in 1985 as a staff attorney and worked his way up to the senior management position of Vice President and General Counsel.
He left Atmos in 1999 when he was called into full-time ministry and entered seminary. Blanscet was then called as the Executive Pastor of First Baptist Church in Carrollton, Texas from June 2002 until October 2013.
In addition to his career objectives, Blanscet has been actively involved in his community. He currently serves on the City Council of Carrollton, Texas. He was first elected in 2015 and re-elected for a second term in 2018. He also served as the city's mayor pro tem from 2017-2018. In addition to his City Council responsibilities, Blanscet serves on the Board of Managers for the local hospital in Carrollton and as part of the advisory board for the local chamber of commerce's leadership program.
Blanscet has been married to his wife, Becky, since 1979. He and Becky have two grown children: Jenna and Mark. Jenna Bolerjack and her husband, Blake, are Christian concert artists (www.blakeandjenna.com) whose ministry extends worldwide. Mark is a marketing analyst for RealPage, Inc. and is married to Meagan, who is a fifth grade math teacher in the Lewisville ISD. They have two children, Kaden and Luke.
